Cooking Instructions

1. Rinse 1 cup of unpolished Rajmudi rice thoroughly under running water 2–3 times to remove any dust or impurities.

2. Soak the washed rice in water for at least 30–45 minutes. This helps reduce the cooking time and ensures uniform cooking.

3. After soaking, drain the water and transfer the rice to a pressure cooker or pot.

4. Add 2.5 to 3 cups of water for every 1 cup of rice, depending on the desired texture (less water for firmer rice, more for softer rice).

5. If using a pressure cooker, cook on medium heat for 3–4 whistles, then let the pressure release naturally.

6. If cooking in a pot, bring the water and rice to a boil, then reduce the heat, cover, and simmer for 30–40 minutes or until the rice is tender and the water is fully absorbed.

Once cooked, let the rice sit covered for a few minutes, then fluff gently with a fork before serving.

Enjoy your healthy, nutritious Rajmudi rice with dal, curry, or any side dish of your choice!
